Service Overview

What is Psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy, also known as talk therapy, is a collaborative treatment based on the relationship between a patient and their provider. At Calvary Health Services, our psychotherapy services use evidence-based approaches to help patients understand and work through difficult emotions, behaviors, and life challenges.

Our dually certified providers integrate psychotherapy seamlessly into the whole-person care model — coordinating with psychiatric evaluations and primary care services to ensure every dimension of a patient’s well-being is addressed.

Therapeutic Approaches

How We Deliver Therapy

Our providers use a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities tailored to each patient’s unique needs, diagnosis, and treatment goals.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

A structured, goal-oriented approach that helps patients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. Highly effective for depression, anxiety, and PTSD.

Supportive Therapy

A compassionate, patient-centered approach that focuses on strengthening coping skills, improving self-esteem, and providing emotional support through difficult life transitions.

Motivational Interviewing

A collaborative, person-centered counseling style that enhances a patient’s motivation for change and commitment to treatment goals — especially effective in long-term care settings.

Grief & Bereavement Counseling

Specialized therapy to help patients navigate loss, process grief, and develop healthy coping strategies to rebuild emotional well-being and daily functioning.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

A sensitive, evidence-based approach that recognizes the pervasive impact of trauma and integrates this understanding into every aspect of the therapeutic relationship and treatment plan.

Adjustment & Life Transition Therapy

Targeted support for patients navigating significant life changes — including chronic illness, disability, aging, and adjustment to long-term care facility environments.
